Preparation
Ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry. It is particularly important that new or bare surfaces are completely dry and free from all defective or poorly adhering material such as dirt, grease and wax.
- Prime new or bare surfaces with an appropriate Dulux Trade primer and rub down previously painted surfaces thoroughly, using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth.
- Pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal may contain harmful lead, so special precautions should be made.
- Any surface defects should be filled with an appropriate filler.
Application
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Stir thoroughly, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Apply with a brush or roller only. For health and safety reasons relating to solvent based paint, do not spray.
- Stir thoroughly before use.
- The usual finishing requirement is 2 full coats of Dulux Trade Satinwood, however if the colour change is especially strong, a coat of Dulux Trade Undercoat may be needed prior to applying this product.
Note: This product contains leading edge technology, however the nature of white solvent-based paints means that they will all discolour over time. Where there is little or no natural or UV light, the rate of discolouration will be faster. For maximum long lasting whiteness, a water based paint such as would be recommended.
